Malayalee Girl in Global Girl Band Contest Finals

Sydney: A 20 year old Malayalee girl from Australia is at the cusp of being part of a global girl music band. Ezrela Abraham, whose parents are from Kannur and Thiruvalla, is one of the 18 talented girls from all around the world in the final stages of selection to the HYBE x Geffen Dream Academy Global Girl Group Contest.

The HYBE x Geffen ‘Dream Academy’ Contest is looking to create a truly global girl group and the next big music sensation. HYBE labels and Geffen Records are the creators of BTS and other iconic acts. Over 120,000 people participated in the global audition process for this program, which took place over nearly two years. Successful candidates were trained in Los Angeles, with regular eliminations throughout the program. The finals consist of three rounds or missions. 20 girls remained in the contest at the beginning of Mission 1.

Mission 1, ‘The Showcase’ unveiled the contestants’ months of training to the public for voting and resulted in two of the girls being eliminated. Mission 2, ‘The Team Mission’ will be in Korea, where contestants will compete in teams and more people will be eliminated. Public voting details will be announced soon. Mission 3, ‘Artistry’ will test the ability of the contestants to pull off unique concepts. At the live finale on November 17, a revolutionary new global group would be announced. Ezrela, with her hard work and skills in singing and dancing, has made it to Mission 2 in Korea. Now people around the world get to decide whether she becomes part of the new girl group.
